Hi there,

I trying to compile my fortran code with PGF/6.0 but I have some variable names longer than 31 characters and the compiler gives warnings about that and fails.

Is it there any PGF/6.0 compiler option that would allow me to use more than 31 characters for the name of variables?

Thanks

JD

Hi John,

I think that several other compilers have extended the language and allowed longer names. For now though, we've stuck to the Fortran standard and the hard limit of 31 characters. I'll pass along a request to our compiler team and see if we can add this to a furture release.

Thanks,
Mat
