What's new about the "PGI Accelerator" compiler products?

PGI Accelerator compilers offer two options to simplify development of accelerator (GPU) enabled applications:

  1. The PGI Accelerator programming model for Fortran and C99; a high-level directive-based programming model that generates a "PGI Accelerator" application; currently supported only on CUDA-enabled NVIDIA GPUs, but designed to be portable to many types of accelerated computing platforms
  2. CUDA Fortran language extensions; an explicit programming model for CUDA-enabled NVIDIA GPUs that is similar to and interoperable with NVIDIA's CUDA C language
