ok, my license.dat has this:

more license.dat
SERVER bioinfo 0030485ae4fa 27000

where bioinfo is the hostname of my server. however, lmgrd is having this issue when starting:

17:04:59 (lmgrd) "bioinfo.xxx.xxx.xxx": Not a valid server hostname, exiting.
17:04:59 (lmgrd) Valid license server system hosts are: "bioinfo"
17:04:59 (lmgrd) Using license file "/opt/pgi/license.dat"

it seems to be using the FQDN of the system, not the hostname.

can i just modify the license.dat file with the FQDN?
