Hello,

I tried to update our PGI libraries on our various machines by using the x86 portability package that PG supplies. While doing so, I noticed that for is no libpthread.so in the folders lib-linux86-g2293 and lib-linux86-g232. Is there a reason they're not there?

Thank you,
Jason

Hi Jason,

"libpgthread.so", with the exception of Red Hat 7.3, is just a link to the system's "libpthread.so". If its not there, it's not needed. Red Hat 7.3's libpthread set the MP stack size too small, so we needed to provide an alternate version. The "linked" libpgthread.so is only there so a user that uses "-lpgthread" instead of "-lpthread" will get the correct library.
