Hello,

I am running Rocks Cluster 5.4 (Maverick) with pgi-10.1-5.3 roll and openmpi-pgi-10.1-5.3 roll [obtained from http://rocks.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/projects.cgi#5.3]. Before purchasing earlier today PGI Fortran Server 10.9 license I have successfully tested aforementioned configuration using trial license. All codes that I compiled ran smoothly producing reliable data.

Presently I am not able to compile any codes due to license manager problem. Here is some info, which hopefully help us to resolve these problems.

1). Obtain hostid and hostname

[root@plasmon ~]# lmutil lmhostid
lmutil - Copyright (c) 1989-2009 Acresso Software Inc. All Rights Reserved.
The FLEXnet host ID of this machine is ""003048c503d8 003048c503d9""
Only use ONE from the list of hostids.
[root@plasmon ~]# lmutil lmhostid -hostname
lmutil - Copyright (c) 1989-2009 Acresso Software Inc. All Rights Reserved.
The FLEXnet host ID of this machine is "HOSTNAME=plasmon.poly.asu.edu"

I used as hostid 003048c503d8, and as hostname HOSTNAME=plasmon.poly.asu.edu to generate license.dat file.

2). generate license.dat file online and place it in /opt/pgi/

3). When trying to compile a simple code I got the following error message [I also make sure to set environment variables correctly, of course]:
[sukharev@plasmon density]$ PGI=/opt/pgi; export PGI
[sukharev@plasmon density]$ PATH=/opt/pgi/linux86-64/10.1/bin:$PATH; export PATH
[sukharev@plasmon density]$ LM_LICENSE_FILE=$LM_LICENSE_FILE:/opt/pgi/license.dat;export LM_LICENSE_FILE
[sukharev@plasmon density]$ mpif90 -o r1 -fast -Mipa=fast 1.f90

See the system adminstrator about starting the license server system, or
make sure you're referring to the right host (see LM_LICENSE_FILE).
Feature: pgi-f95-lin64
Hostname: HOSTNAME=plasmon.poly.asu.edu
License path: /opt/pgi/license.dat:
FLEXnet Licensing error:-96,7. System Error: 2 "No such file or directory"
For further information, refer to the FLEXnet Licensing documentation,
available at "www.acresso.com".

I'd greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Maxim.

It appears that I screwed up with the hostname AND didn't start lmgrd
Once I corrected the license.dat [removing that "HOST="] and executing
Code:
/opt/pgi/linux86-64/10.1/bin/lmgrd.rc start

pgi compiles nicely all the codes.
