Is really necessary releasing new version of PGI every month?

I prefer two releases per year and update patches which is possible to apply on already instaled release.

Hi Michal,

We started producing monthly builds due to customer requests for quicker turn around of bug fixes. In large part, our customers have been happy with this quick response.

The one issue for those customer whom download the product every month,, and I believe this is your main complaint, is the large size of the download. In our 2011 product, we will address this by splitting the download into multiple packages. The parts that do not change with every release, such as MPICH, and the parts that change more often, such as the compilers.

While it's not exactly what you want, it's hopefully closer.

Thanks,
Mat
